Serving the Community:

陈先生以三种方式为大众免费服务:

• He grows a large variety of herbs in his gardens at Jurong West and Kranji.  

• He provides advice and herbs to people who want to learn more about health and herbal remedies  

• He brews herbal tea at the 938 garden every Monday, Wednesday and  Friday and offers the tea free to all visitors.  What he brews depends on what he thinks the community needs, such as herbs to boost immunity during 'flu season, or cooling herbs for hot spells. (He reluctantly suspended this service recently due to lack of manpower and other factors.)

• 培植草药

• 给予保健与健康状况建议与配合草药土方

• 每逢星期一，三，五，他为社区与访客熬煮草药茶。每次配方都不同，或是解暑，或是提高免疫力等等。（这项费时费力的服务由于人手缺乏等因素被迫暂停）。

True to his big-hearted community spirit, he does not charge for his advice or the herbs. People who have been helped or moved by his selflessness offer some support in time and donations.

Over the years, a small group of volunteers have come from far and near to help him. Still, there is lots more to be done and Uncle Tan is putting in very long hours, trying to help as many people as he can.

Obviously, if nothing is done, one day both his heritage and his wonderful community work will be lost.  We, the volunteers, who have come together to help him create this website, are focusing first on documenting his healing wisdom.  Next, we are open to ideas and suggestions as to how his community work can be sustained in the longer term.

乐善好施的陈先生不向大众索取款项，只靠自掏腰包和一些受益和被感动的各界人士的红包。

几年下来，一批来自四面八方的义工也在陈先生的身旁扶持。可是，许多事项还需陈先生亲力亲为，以惠及更多人士。

陈先生与义工们都希望老一辈养生智慧得以世代相传。所以义工们希望通过这个网站，为传承这段佳话与古老草药智慧出些薄力，同时也希望读者能给予一些评价与建议，大家集思广益，携手为你我的下一代守住一些本土的传奇。
